The NEC is hosting the (DPRTE) Birmingham Arms Fair. Christian groups from a number of locations and denominations are joining at the NEC for a time of peaceful, nonviolent protest with shared prayer and public worship. Together we will bear witness and say “there is no faith in war.”
There’s plenty of room for more faith groups to be involved and participate in the worship, or just to be present in solidarity. We would be pleased to hear from you regardless. Arrangements are being coordinated via student ministers from Queen’s Foundation in Birmingham, who will also be participating on the day.
Please get in touch at ‘firstname.lastname@example.org’ to find out more and how you can make your voice heard.
Alternatively, you can just turn up and join us on the day! Demonstrations and protests are planned by other activist groups on the day and times for our gathering have yet to be finalised.
What should I bring? Prayers, music, food, water, your mates, weather-appropriate clothing – come ready for a full day outside. If you want to you can bring prayer flags and symbols of your faith to decorate our prayer space and food to share. And, of course, your placards and banners.
