Growing Younger Facilitators
If you are interested in exploring creative ways to connect with more children and families in your parish we have three Growing Younger Facilitators (GYFs) who are available as a resource to support, share ideas and help you. Our Facilitators are experienced in a wide range of ministry including children and family ministry, outer estate ministry, music and leading worship, creative and innovative ministry and fresh ways of thinking. Facilitators work in parish with a wide range of churches to help them develop a vision and strategy for 'growing younger', helping us all to reach out more effectively to children and families with the message of Jesus. Each facilitator works with a small number churches at any one time.
The first step to explore working with a facilitator is to get in touch and invite them to visit you. At the initial meeting, the Facilitator will listen to your hopes, dreams, ideas and challenges. They will then suggest a way forward and meet regularly with you to support you as you put new ideas into practice.
To get the ball rolling email Liz Dumain.
Meet the Facilitators
Damian joined us from Riverside Church, having served as Worship Director for eight years. He has also worked with BIG Ministries for over ten years – helping children and families encounter Jesus and facilitating churches to do likewise.
He is passionate about Church as a place where the diverse people of God learn to worship as one and where those who don’t yet know God find genuine welcome.
Damian is a fun-loving, guitar-playing, marathon-running, whisky-drinking, beard-wearing husband-of-one and bug-hunting father-of-two.
Ruth has been involved in children’s and youth work in some way for most of her life – either as a participant or as a helper/volunteer/leader. She has a wealth of experience working with children and young people having worked in churches, schools, museums and zoos.
She is passionate about all ages learning and growing in faith together. She also loves being creative and using that to help people grow nearer to God.
