Growing Leaders - Train the Trainer
Saturday 30 June | 10am-3pm | 1 Colmore Row
Developing leaders is a priority for all churches. Research consistently demonstrates the clear link between leadership and the health and growth of a church. And with the realities of mission and ministry in an ever changing culture, developing mission-minded leaders is a vital way of equipping the Church for the opportunities of the 21st century.
The Growing Leaders course focuses on developing leaders across the life of the church, and provides practical resources for running a leadership development process over a year.
These courses have been run over the past few years in a number of contexts within our Diocese, with encouraging feedback. We would love to see more parishes being equipped to run courses like this, encouraging a new generation of lay leaders that are confident in whole life discipleship.
We will be running a ‘Training the Trainers’ day for all who are thinking about or interested in running a Growing Leaders Course at some point in the near future. The day will provide information about the course, practical details of how the course works and an opportunity to explore how it might work in your context. There will also be a session for possible mentors, as mentoring plays a key part.
The day will be led by Ruth Hassall, Director of Growing Younger (Children and Families) who previously had oversight of the Growing Leaders programme at CPAS and is author of the Youth Edition of the course, and Gillian Sheail, Church of England Birmingham’s Mentors Facilitator.
The day is free of charge, but please do book your place.
