Mission Apprentices

Our Mission Apprentice Scheme seeks to train and invest in missional leaders who want to explore their vocation and calling to urban mission.

First started in 2011, the Mission Apprentice Scheme has already trained and inspired two cohorts of Mission Apprentices, who have been empowered to follow their vocation as lay leaders, church leaders, youth workers and other vocational pathways.

Our 3rd cohort of Mission Apprentices, funded by the AllChurches Trust, started in September 2018 with the commissioning of 9 Mission Apprentices.

Our Mission Apprentices work 20 hours a week in some of our most deprived parishes. They are supported by a supervisor, mentor and learning program, to develop new projects in their parishes and engage their church in missional activities and thinking.

The Mission Apprentices and the parishes they serve are:

Chloe Hewett – Holy Cross, Billsley

Fiona Allen - St John and St Michael, Langley

Jody-Ann Frazer – St John and St Peter, Ladywood

Lizzie Steele – Bishop Latimer, Winson Green

Lou Bayliss - St. David’s, Shenley Green

Mandy Widdas - St. Editha’s, Amington

Marie Ford – St. Gabriel’s, Weoley Castle

Ricky Sandford – St Clements, Castle Bromwich

Sian Mehlmann – St Luke’s, Great Colmore Street
