Finn gives up TV and chocolate to help children in Malawi

Chocolate and TV must be at the top of the list of favorites for any child. So when six year old Finn gave up both of these for Lent, his family and friends were very impressed.

Finn was inspired by his teacher, Mr Down, who had visited Malawi with the Birmingham Diocese some years ago, and had told the class many stories about the children there. Finn wanted the children in Malawi to have some of the things that he had and decided to do something about it. He set himself a six week challenge to give up TV for three weeks and then chocolate for three weeks and he asked people to sponsor him.

Finn raised an amazing sum of over £700 to help children in Malawi. The support he received by family and friends from his school and St Anne's Moseley Church encouraged him to keep going over the six weeks.
