Announcement of new Priest-in-Charge for St Luke’s, Birmingham

We are delighted to announce that Tim Hughes has been appointed Priest-in-Charge of St Luke’s Parish in Birmingham city centre.

Tim is currently Director of Worship at Holy Trinity Brompton, an Anglican church in central London, and heads up Worship Central, an international worship training and resource centre.

His arrival at St Luke’s will also signal a new venture for the Church of England in Birmingham with the acquisition of an additional large building just off Broad Street. The vision is for a second church in this parish, which under Tim and his wife Rachel's leadership will reach out to students and young adults and become a resource for the wider ministry of the Church of England in Birmingham.

We will be recruiting a full-time ordained colleague to work alongside Tim in the parish, across the existing St Luke’s Church Centre and the new facility on Gas Street.

Having grown up in Birmingham, Tim and Rachel will be returning with their four children hoping to launch this new venture in Autumn 2015.

Please hold them in your prayers and make them really welcome as they settle into Birmingham life this Easter.

"I am delighted by the appointment of Tim Hughes as Priest-in-Charge at St Luke's in the City Centre. Tim and Rachel and their family have had an enormously fruitful time at HTB in London and we look forward to seeing all that God has in store for them here in Birmingham in the years to come."

The Rt Revd David Urquhart
Bishop of Birmingham
