Birmingham Comes Together to Remember Paris Victims

People from across Birmingham will gather on Sunday evening, 15th November, at 6pm to remember those caught up in the terrible atrocities in Paris. The candlelit vigil will include speeches from leaders of the different faiths in Birmingham and a minutes silence at 6:30pm, two hours before the time the attacks started on Friday.

The Rt Revd David Urquhart, Bishop of Birmingham, said, ‘At times like this the different faiths in Birmingham are able to show that we are united in our condemnation of these attacks and in our determination not to let events like this damage the good relations we have here in Birmingham. This candlelit vigil will be a great opportunity for people of all faiths and none to gather and to pray or just be silent and reflect on what has happened and our part in making our city a peaceful and cohesive place to live’.

Location: Outside the Cathedral main door.

Start time: 6pm

Candle lit silent vigil: 6:30pm
