Black History Month marked with a celebration service

Black History Month was marked with a celebration service to honour the contribution of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic Anglicans in the Church of England Birmingham.

Present were the very Revd Matt Thomson Dean of Birmingham Cathedral and the Revd Canon Dr Mark Pryce, Queen's Chaplain and Director of Ministry.

In a joyful ceremony, the preacher, Revd Smitha Prasadam, Vicar of St Paul, Hamstead and Interim Dean of BAME Affairs praised the generations of men and women whose personal witness, godly devotion and exemplary ministry nurtured the faith of communities everywhere in Walsall, Birmingham and the whole of England. Smitha said, "We are all in this together. We work for the Church of England; the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of God."

A special African Caribbean evening with a three course meal and entertainment at £10 is set to be sold out this Saturday 21 October at 6 PM. Tel 01213690611 for details.
