Bishop appoints new Honorary Canons

When someone is appointed as an Honorary Canon it’s in recognition of outstanding contribution and significant service within the Birmingham Diocese

An Honorary Canon is an ambassador for mission and service and contributes to the corporate life of the Cathedral.

The Bishop of Birmingham will collate the following clergy as honorary canons of Birmingham Cathedral on 15 July 2018:

The Revd Andrew Mark Delmege

The Revd Timothy Duncan Hill-Brown

The Revd Janet Knox

The Revd David Adrian Leahy

The Revd Dr John Christopher Joshva Raja

The Bishop of Birmingham will collate the following as honorary lay canons of Birmingham Cathedral on 15 July 2018:

Mrs Jacqueline Brocklebank

Mrs Jill Margaret MacDonald

Mr Jonathan Charles Rattley (k/a Fred)

The following Honorary Lay Canons will be made Honorary Lay Canon Emeritus, with parchments conferred by the Bishop of Birmingham on 15 July 2018:

Canon Marcus Richard Huxley (with effect from 11 March 2017)

Canon Dr Terence Richard Slater (with effect from 23 November 2016)

Canon Paul Graham Wilson (with effect from 28 November 2017)

The terms of the following Canon Theologians of Birmingham Cathedral are to be extended by five years:

Canon Professor David Frank Ford (with effect from 23 March 2018)

Canon Dr Paula Gooder (with effect from 23 March 2018)

The terms of the following Honorary Lay Canons are to be extended:

Canon Sharon Delaney Palmer MBE (term to be extended by five years)

Canon Dr Mukti Barton (term to be extended until 9 December 2020)
