Introducing Parish Mission Support

Who are the Parish Mission Support Team?

Following an internal restructure earlier this year, the newly formed Parish Mission Support Team are available to serve CofEB Parishes across the Diocese. Led by Liz Dumain, the team carries a wide range of experience and expertise in mission, youth work, children’s ministry, mission planning, schools ministry and much more.

What’s available for my Parish?

Support, resource, help, advice, facilitation……. Just ask & we’ll do all we can to help – here’s some things you might want to ask about. I’ve summarised below the kind of things that parishes have already benefitted from – but let us know if there’s something you need that isn’t listed here. We are here to serve parishes so please ask………….

Transforming Church Action Planning (TCAP)

Whether your parish mission plan is up to date, a work in progress or lurking somewhere on the back of a shelf, there is support with facilitation to review/freshen it up as we begin the process of creating TCAP plans at both Parish and Deanery level. Many parishes have benefitted from away days, PCC meetings and creative facilitation as part of their TCAP process. If you would like a member of the team to come out & talk about your mission plan, please Contact Damian Herbert or Liz Dumain.

Growing Younger:

As we all work together ‘Growing Younger’, Emma SargeantAdam Larkin and Ruth Young are able to offer specific advice and help to parishes working on Transforming Church Goal 4.

Adam Larkin is available for help, advice and practical support for any parish wanting to establish new youth ministry. If you would like support, ideas or facilitation around ministry with children and their families, Ruth Young would love to come and visit. Ruth has endless creative ideas and advice and many parishes have benefitted from her input in areas such as Messy Church, Christmas/Easter through the Keyhole and help with recruitment/job descriptions.

If you would like general advice around any aspect of children’s youth and young adults ministry then contact Emma Sargeant – Emma also oversees our new learning pathway for youth work ‘Flex’, click here for details.

Connecting with your local school:

Many parishes enjoy great relationships with their local school, and others are creating new opportunities and deepening their support. A great way to do this is through Prayer Spaces, Open the Book and other trusted link projects. If you would like to explore greater connections with your local school, Mike DownJill Stolberg would love to come out & talk more.
