A church planting event is taking place at Gas Street Church on November 8th (10am-2pm).
A diocesan team will be outlining the vision for New Christian Communities in Birmingham and explain how churches can get involved with the new opportunities taking place. The day will have various contributors sharing their experiences of church planting, including Rev. Ali Herbert (Gas Street Church) and Andrew Waddams (Gallery Church), both of whom are recent church planters into the city.
Also contributing will be the Bishop of Aston, Rt. Rev. Anne Hollinghurst, Rev. Calvert Prentis, Diocesan Director of Ordinands and Andrew Halstead, Diocesan Secretary. They will be available to talk with those who feel called to work with the Church of England and want to explore the various pathways into ministry that are currently available in Birmingham.
Also present will be Dr. Jon Turner, Director of New Christian Communities, and Mark Berry, Fresh Expressions Enabler, who are available to discuss the many and varied opportunities to engage in Church Planting across the Diocese.
Whether you want to bring a few people from your church or come alone you are very welcome. The day will focus on church planting initiatives from the Church of England Birmingham’s perspective but is ecumenical and open to ANYONE interested in church planting. The day is free to attend with refreshments provided and a free lunch.
