Anna Chaplaincy

Named after the faithful widow Anna, who appears with Simeon in Luke’s gospel, Anna Chaplaincy is non-judgemental, person centred spiritual care for older people of all faiths and none. In June 2019, Anna Chaplaincy began in the Emmanuel group of churches in Birmingham, focusing on spiritual care needs in the Sparkbrook, Sparkhill, Springfield and Tyseley areas. The team includes one commissioned Anna Chaplain, and two commissioned Anna Friends (volunteers), who together offer care to individuals in the community, or in care homes, who are over the age of 70.
