Children's Workers - Birmingham City Mission
There are two opportunities for children’s workers with a passion for outreach to join an existing team serving Birmingham children aged 5 -11 years. One post is available Summer term 2020, closing date 28th February 2020; the second post is available Autumn term 2020, closing date 26th June 2020. Applications for part-time hours will be considered in line with details given in the application pack.
Most of the work takes place in primary schools and comprises: leading acts of collective worship; taking part in RE lessons; and leading after school clubs. The team reaches over 50,000 children with the gospel message every term. The team is also involved in holiday outreach clubs for 5 -11s. The Birmingham demographic means that much of our work is cross cultural.
The ideal candidate for each post will be a godly evangelical Christian who will have demonstrated a ‘heart for’ children’s ministry. He or she will have worked with children in either a paid or voluntary capacity on a full or part-time basis, possibly as a postgraduate ministry trainee.
The candidate will have:
- A full driving licence;
- The personality and ability to engage children’s interest;
- Experience in delivering Christian material to children; and
- Either some formal training in Bible handling, or a willingness to undertake training with Midlands Ministry Training Course.
The offer of this post will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references.
