USPG Harvest Appeal 2018: receivers to givers

28th March 2018

USPG's Harvest Appeal for 2018 is focusing on a community development programme run by the Episcopal Church in the Philippines (ECP). ECP’s Receivers to Givers programme helps vulnerable communities to achieve financial sustainability.

Outreach workers enable communities to identify income generation opportunities and provide low-interest loans so these can be implemented. From the profit they make, communities are able to pay back their loans with a little extra so that other communities can also benefit. In this way, receivers are transformed into givers.

To date, income generation initiatives have included cultivating beans and mushrooms, making turmeric capsules, and creating sweet potato ice-cream.

The support of your church will make a world of difference.

Please choose Receivers to Givers for Harvest 2018 and help many more communities in the Philippines unlock their potential.

USPG – United Society Partners in the Gospel – is an Anglican mission agency supporting churches around the world in their mission to bring fullness of life to the communities they serve.

Theologically, practically and financially, we encourage and enable churches within the Anglican Communion to act as the hands and feet of Christ.

Together, we are working to improve health, tackle poverty, put children in school, challenge discrimination, nurture leaders, give a voice to women, and much more.

We were founded 1701 by the Revd Thomas Bray, who also founded SPCK (Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge).
