Parish Mission Support invites us to pray for Volunteer Sunday:

Loving God, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the selfless service of our volunteers. Thank you for the time, talent, and energy that they dedicate to serving others and building your Kingdom. We pray that you bless them abundantly and guide their hands and hearts as they serve. May they experience the joy of knowing they are making a difference in the lives of others. We cheer them on and pray for them in all that they do in your name. Amen


Monday 2 June

June is Pride month, Barrie Scott, LGBT+ Chaplaincy Support Team, invites us to pray,

Dear God, we pray for your blessing on all those involved in Birmingham Pride (this weekend). We give you thanks for the rich diversity of your creation, and for the welcome that you offer to all your children.
We continue to pray for those who are hurt or damaged by the continuing exclusion and hate shown by some Christians. May your church continue to be enriched by the ministries and presence of all LGBTQ+ bishops, priests, deacons and laity, and grant us all grace, strength and humility to love as you have loved us.

Dear Creator, grant us the wisdom to challenge waste and compassion to ensure every person is clothed with dignity. May we hold brands accountable and uplift the workers in the supply chain, many of whom are in poverty themselves.

International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

Loving God, we pray for a world free from violence against children, where every child can play, go to school, be healthy, make friends, feel empowered and have their voice heard. A world where children feel loved and are safe from harm.
Let us provide support for children who have experienced violence, to ensure that they are cared for, loved and protected.

Thank you, Lord, for the life of Pope Francis, his love for creation and warnings about its neglect. We now pray for Pope Leo, and in particular that he may continue his campaign to preserve the Amazon, its forests and its peoples.

Dear Lord, we pray for children trapped in labour, seeking rescue and reunion with their families. Provide for their physical needs, grant them nourishment, and protect them from harm. May they find love, healing, and hope in your embrace.

We pray the Growing Gifts Prayer for all who are locally authorised to lead worship or preach on an occasional basis,

Gracious and Holy God, send down upon your Church the riches of your Spirit. Lead us in your Light, and guide us by your Grace. Open our hearts to your Wisdom, and nourish us with your Goodness. May our words and lives proclaim you, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Lord God of everyday life, we need so many things. We need food and clothing. We need things for our homes and our cars. We need toys and entertainment. We thank you for the people who work in shops, supermarkets and market stalls, who stock and serve for us when we shop in person. We thank you for the people who pick and deliver when we shop online. May we express out gratitude to them more often.

Loving Lord,
We ask for your blessing on all those gathering for the Flex Conference today. Inspire and guide them as they explore discipleship with children and young people through seminars, keynote addresses, and meaningful conversations. May this time be enriching and nourishing, filled with wisdom, encouragement, and shared learning. We pray that volunteers, paid workers, and experts from across the diocese will delight in listening, reflecting, and exchanging ideas.

We give thanks for the abundance of gifts that God has given to the Church, and we pray that we may encourage one another to recognise those gifts and offer them in the service of the Church and the Kingdom. We give thanks for and pray with all who share in leading worship or preaching, and particularly for those who do so in new or emerging worshipping communities.
