Saturday 1 July

Ember Day 

The Collect for the day,

Almighty God,
you have broken the tyranny of sin
and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our
hearts
whereby we call you Father:
give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your
service,
that we and all creation may be brought
to the glorious liberty of the children of God;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen


Sunday 2 July

The Fouth Sunday after Trinity

Loving Lord, as we start each day anew,
ou are our strength and our shield.
We trust in you and give thanks that we
are stronger together with your Holy Spirit
guiding us.

Monday 3 July

Thomas the Apostle

National Plastic Bag Free Day,

God of the universe,
We thank you for your many good gifts - for the
beauty of creation and its rich and varied fruits,
for clean water and fresh air, for food and shelter,
animals and plants.
Forgive us for the times we have taken the earth’s
resources for granted and wasted what you have
given us.
Transform our hearts and minds so that we would
learn to care, share and recycle, to touch the earth
with gentleness and with love, respecting all living
things. Amen


Tuesday 4 July

Prayer today is inspired by American Independence Day,

Dear Lord, On American Independence Day and
every day we pray that you bless the heart and
soul of America. We place America into your loving
hands Lord. Amen


Wednesday 5 July

God grant me the serenity to accept the things
I cannot change, the courage to change the
things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.


Thursday 6 July

Almighty and merciful God,
whose Son became a refugee and had no place
to call his own; look with mercy on those who today
are fleeing from danger, homeless and hungry.

Bless those who work to bring them relief; inspire
generosity and compassion in all our hearts; and
guide the nations of the world towards that day
when all will rejoice in your Kingdom of justice and
of peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Friday 7 July

A prayer for General Synod,

Lord Jesus Christ, send forth your Spirit of
love and truth on the bishops in synod and on
all who assist them in fulfilling their task. Make
them faithful to what the Spirit is saying to the
Churches; stir their souls and teach them by that
same Holy Spirit. Amen


Saturday 8 July

John Nightingale invites us to pray,

Today and tomorrow the General Synod is to
debate its response to the climate emergency, and
whether the Church Commissioners and Pensions
Board should divest from fossil fuels. Please pray
that the debate may be rigorous and fair, and that
the Church may act on its decisions.

Monday 10 July

Barrie Scott, invites us to pray for General Synod,

We pray for General Synod, meeting to
consider the implementation of prayers for
blessing same sex couples. We pray for all those
who continue to experience the hurt of exclusion
and rejection by the church, and for those for
whom same sex blessings continue to present
difficulties. We pray for our bishops and for all
members of Synod, that they might have loving
hearts, courage and wisdom. Imbue us all with
your Holy Spirit, and kindle in us the fire of your
love. Amen

Dear Lord, we pray for the world’s estimated
population of 8 billion people to hear the message
of the gospel. We pray that every Christian across
the world would be raised up to boldly proclaim
the gospel in grace and truth. Amen

We pray of the work of Arts
Connect across the West
Midlands and for creativity through
the Arts. May all your children
have opportunities to experience
and create Art, and to celebrate the gift of
imagination and expression. Amen


Thursday 13 July

Olywn Powell invites us to pray,

We ask the Lord’s blessing on our church
weekend away at Cloverley Hall where
those who worship at St Peter and St Paul’s,
Water Orton will be enjoying friendship and
participation. We pray for those who will be
speaking that they may be inspired by You, Lord.

Shark Awareness Day

God of all creation, you created animals
to roam the earth and fish to fill the seas.
We pray for creatures on the verge of
extinction, specifically that those responsible
for poaching and polluting will be held
responsible. Help us to live in a way that does
not endanger life, but cherishes and nourishes
the life in and around us. Amen

county lines enslavement. God of rescue,
set them free, God of mercy give them the
support they need to turn their lives around.

Sovereign God,
in Christ you make all things new.
Clothe us with power from on high,
that with generous lives and hearts on fire
we might work with you
to grow your church and transform your world.

Nelson Mandela International Day: This day we
give thanks for the life of Nelson Mandela,

He led a nation on a long walk to freedom.
He fought for reconciliation and not retribution.
He argued for peace in place of war.
Lord, we pray for our global leaders, give them
strength and wisdom. Amen

Father in heaven, we stand before you today
in your omnipotent presence to ask that you
grant us strength. We want you to give us the
strength to power through all of the tasks today

Dear Lord, we pray today for homeless
people in our city and across the world,
that children and families in need with no
place to call home will be guided to places of
peace and security. Amen

Loving God, We pray for the farming
community as they continue to work hard to
bring us food.
Bless them as they sow crops and care for livestock.
Surround them with your love so they may know
they are cared for and valued. Amen


Tuesday 25 July

Heavenly Father, comfort and relieve those
challenged by mental and emotional illnesses.
Give your power of healing to those who minister
to their needs, that they may be strengthened in
their weakness and have confidence in your loving
care; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Heavenly Father, we thank you for blessing
us with children. Thank you that they get to
go to school and increase in knowledge as they
learn something new each day. May you protect
them as they begin their summer holidays.
Father, give them the wisdom to make the
correct choices at school and play. Amen

earth and till it. Help us to act now for the
good of future generations and all your creatures.
Help us to become instruments of a new creation,

Today is Global Tiger Day, an annual celebration to raise awareness for the plight of tigers,

We pray for tigers and all species that are a
critically endangered, whose numbers are affected
by the illegal wildelife trade, habitat loss and
climate change.

The Eighth Sunday after Trinity

World Day Against Trafficking Persons,

God of mercy and of justice,
We hold before you in prayer, all who are
enslaved: those who have been trafficked,
exploited and abused; those who live in
extreme poverty; those who have no voice.
Protect, guide and guard them this day. Draw
close to them, may they know your presence,
power and peace. We pray for those now free,
still bound by the scars they carry. We pray for
deep, gentle healing and bold, transformative
justice. Amen
