This appointment also includes the opportunity to explore future mission and ministry in nearby Druids Heath, (in the parish of Kings Norton) where a major redevelopment is planned.


Church Planting and Revitalisation Catalyst

The Church Planting & Revitalisation Catalyst is part of the Mission Support Team, contributing to Church of England Birmingham’s vision to grow churches at the heart of each community. Reporting to the Director of Mission, the role supports the development of new worshipping communities across the diocese as part of our wider strategy for Church Planting and Revitalisation. Working alongside bishops, archdeacons, and local leaders, the postholder will help shape and support new expressions of church that are prayerful, mission-focused, and rooted in their local context, nurturing new disciples and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ across Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

The primary focus of the Giving and Generosity Advisor is to work with parishes to: - Understand their current financial situation and how this links to the wider Church of England Birmingham situation. - Understand our model and how support is on offer for parishes who are economically deprived. - Assess with them the support needed to increase generosity and giving at a local level and create an action plan around this that is bespoke and contextual. - Create a long-term plan for their participation in the common fund.

Priest in Charge (0.5) Erdington, St Chad

St Chad’s is a welcoming and inclusive parish and LEP (Anglican- Methodist) in the Erdington suburb of Birmingham (about 4 miles north of the city centre). The Bishop of Birmingham is seeking a faith filled, prayerful and energetic minister to be our next priest to be our next 0.5 priest in charge. We long to grow spiritually, numerically and also increase our engagement with the local community and especially with young people, schools and young families. We are a committed part of the newly established Erdington oversight area and have also begun an exciting mission shaped redevelopment project with our buildings.
