Priest in Charge - Northfield, St Laurence & West Heath, St Anne

The Bishop of Birmingham and in conjunction with the Warden, Fellows and Scholars of Keble College Oxford, as Patron of Northfield, seek a Priest in Charge for St Laurence Northfield and St Anne’s West Heath, residential parishes about six miles south west of Birmingham city centre.

Worship is in the catholic tradition at St Laurence and also predominantly Eucharistic at St Anne’s. The two churches are distinct in style and context, yet share a commitment to

  • ministry among children and families, especially through the Church of England infant and junior schools in Northfield;
  • developing deeper relationships in the local area, which includes sheltered housing and residential homes, community centres and schools;
  • building up their congregations and discerning new gifts.

This post offers significant opportunities for an empowering and enabling priest, able to inspire and encourage people in pastoral care and evangelism, and who will be energised by the combination of day to day ministry and wider leadership.
