The Bishop of Birmingham, the Rt Revd Dr Michael Volland, is very pleased to announce the appointment of the Revd Mark Bennett as Area Dean of Kings Norton, Moseley & Shirley and Priest Missioner in the deanery. Mark’s first placement as Priest Missioner will be as Priest in Charge of The United Church of St Paul's, Balsall Heath.
Mark is currently part of the Ministries Team in Church of England Birmingham and also licensed as a self-supporting priest in the parish of Kings Norton.
He says, “Having served as a priest in three different parishes in this deanery, and lately as Ministry Development Lead (Ordained), it has been a privilege to see it from various perspectives in that time. Living in this part of the diocese since 2016, I have come to know and love its people and have a strong sense of calling to ministry here. I am delighted to have been offered the role of Area Dean and Priest Missioner and look forward to working and praying together for God's Kingdom in King's Norton, Moseley and Shirley over the months and years ahead."
Mark will be licensed by Bishop Michael at Balsall Heath Church Centre on Tuesday 24th June at 7pm.
