Accordion TEST 8Feb22 Children and Youth etc

Events to complement your children’s, families, youth, and young adults’ work throughout the year.

Events to support your mission amongst the under 35s

We have created a series of events that you can schedule throughout the church’s year, in order to journey with the young from a point of connection through to deepening their faith and to belonging in your church community. Why not create a plan for your church’s year using some of these events and then supplement with your own church rhythms, such as fayres and outreach, seasonal services, and life event celebrations or remembrances? Emma and Adam would love to talk through any of these events with you.

Taizé: Young adults

Once a year, Bishop Anne leads a pilgrimage to Taizé in the summer holidays. We welcome anyone under the age of 35 to join us. If you are under 18, you need to come with an adult who will take full responsibility for you. Taizé is a place where young people from all over the world come together to pray, worship, study the Bible and live in a community with each other, usually for just one week. You can find out more about Taizé from their website: https://www.taize.fr/en For more information, contact Emma on emmas@cofebirmingham.com or visit Taize’s website.

Activate: Young People

Activate is a youth led initiative to bring Christian young people and their friends together across the Birmingham Diocese. There are termly events in each of our Deaneries, created and planned by young people as a space to come together for fun and fellowship, including sports and activities as well as worship, prayer and studying the bible. For more information about the next one in your Deanery, and how to get involved, contact Adam on adaml@cofebirmingham.com

Holiday Clubs: Households with primary school-aged children

During the year, you can join Filler and Spiller (our Holiday Club characters) to play games, explore the bible, sing songs and get creative. We have produced content for the Holiday Club, with 30 minutes of ‘up front’ fun and games and a Bible message, followed by activities for you to do with your households, and finally a 15 minute time together to finish. All you need to do is invite households with primary school-aged children to join you. You can run them at Easter, in the summer, and at Advent. For an idea of what we have done before, check out our YouTube channel and watch the Summer 2020 Holiday Club. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nqtzEj9xic For more information, contact Emma on emmas@cofebirmingham.com
