This week in Canterbury and Birmingham, the Lambeth Conference of Bishops and the Commonwealth Games of Athletes between them encompass 165 countries and a population of 2.4 billion people.  Moving between the two world-wide gatherings gives a vivid picture of human potential in an awesome array of talent and endeavour, teamwork and mutual support.
