In response to the Church of England report, ‘From Lament to Action’, Christians in Birmingham and the West Midlands are working together to promote racial justice and eliminate racism.

Oversight Areas in the CofE Birmingham are made up of a range of expressions of church in the community. In each of our 6 deaneries, Area Deans oversee a number of oversight areas, supporting Oversight Ministers in each of these, and enabling the deanery to reach out to one another on shared interests and commitments.
In 2019 Church Army went into partnership with Church of England Birmingham to launch the Langley Centre of Mission in the West Midlands.
New Beginnings Community (NBC) have been awarded The King's Award for Voluntary Service under the category for Community Hubs and Services.
Recently, the Bishop’s Youth Synod was invited to attend the Diocesan Synod to discuss ways local churches can engage with young people, encouraging them to be part of Sunday worship.
In her 2023 Christmas message, Bishop Anne, Bishop of Aston and Acting Bishop of Birmingham, wishes everyone a song-filled, hope-filled, peace-filled Christmas.
